How to Use PhoneRescue for HTC

Step 1: Preparations.

Do as following:
  • Open PhoneRescue for HTC on your computer
  • Connect HTC device to computer with the USB cable
  • Choose data to recover and click Next button

If USB debugging option is enabled on HTC device, PhoneRescue for HTC will recognize your device automatically. If you don’t connect your device to computer or your HTC device isn’t detected, you will see the interface below:

Connecting Your HTC Device

When you connect android device to Windows computer at the first time, your computer will install USB Driver for your device automatically.

If your device is recognized by PhoneRescue for HTC, the interface below will be displayed. The whole files types supported by PhoneRescue for HTC will be displayed here. If you don’t want to scan some categories, please uncheck the boxes in the front of them.

If PhoneRescue for HTC fails to recognize your device, you may try these troubleshooting steps to solve this problem.

Step 2: Analysis.

Do as following:
  • Wait for the scanning process
  • Preview the scanned data

The Deep Scan function will be available instantly if your HTC device has been rooted. If not, your device will be rooted in the first step. You will see the interface below when the rooting process starts. And rooting device may spend a lot of time. Please keep patient.

After the rooting process finishes, you will enter Depp Scan function automatically. It will take some time to scan depending on the amount of data on your device.

Analyzing HTC Device

Step 3: Recovery.

Do as following:
  • Select the specific data you will recover
  • Click button to recover data to computer
  • Or click button to recover data to device

Once the scanning process finishes, it displays both the existed and lost data on device. You can choose the option "Only list deleted" to only select the lost data. Or you also can choose the option “Only list existed” to select all existed data. If possible, please type key words in the search box to search data quickly.

Chosing the Scanned Data

When the selecting process finishes, please click the Recover button to save data. Please click (To Computer) to save the recovered data on your computer. And you can choose to recover the personal data (Contacts, Messages, Call Logs, Calendar) to your computer or device by clicking or (To Device) button.

Recover Data to Device or Computer

1. Please make sure that the Internet connection is stable during the recovery process.

2. Please don’t disconnect your device during the recovery process.

It will display the Recovery Completed page when the recovery process is completed. Please check the location of saved data by clicking “View Files”. And to go back to the home page, please click “Start Over” option.
