When you use an iPhone or any other smartphone for that matter, the most important thing you need to check before you leave home is how much battery charge is left on your device. However, viewing the battery percentage on an iPhone and iPad is a bit different, especially with the newly released iPhone models like iPhone 11.
It is still possible to view the battery percentage though on any of the iPhone models. The only thing that differs is the way you access it on your iPhone model. The following guide covers methods for both old and new iPhone models.
If you have bought yourself a shiny new iPhone 11 or any newer version for that matter, you will find that the battery percentage is not where it used to be in older models of the device. It is actually because Apple has shifted the location of the percentage and you now need to find it at its new location on your device.
There are actually multiple locations where you can see the percentage of battery available on your latest iPhone model. The following shows all of the locations that show battery percentage.
Control Center is one of the tools on your iPhone that gives you quick access to a number of features on your device. On an iPhone 11 or the latest model, you can use it to view your battery percentage as well.
Step 1. Swipe downwards from the top-right corner of your iPhone.
Step 2. Control Center will launch and you will be able to view your battery percentage.
You can also view your battery status from the Batteries Widget.
Step 1. Open the Today View by swiping right on the lock screen or the first page of the home screen.
If there’s no Batteries widget, just scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Edit”, then tapping the (+) button next to “Batteries.” to add it.
Step 2. Once the Batteries widget is added, you’ll see your iPhone’s battery percentage. The battery percentage of any connected devices will be displayed here, such as AirPods.
Siri helps you do a number of tasks on your iOS device and this includes helping you view your battery percentage as well. You can ask her what your battery levels are and she will be happy to help you with it.
Step 1. Launch Siri using your preferred way.
Step 2. When Siri opens, ask her What is my battery percentage? She will speak and show the battery percentage on your screen.
While this method does not show the battery percentage permanently on your device, it does show it for one quick second.
Step 1. Connect your charging cable to your device.
Step 2. Turn on charging and you will see the battery status for a moment on your device’s screen. That is how you turn on battery percentage on an iPhone.
If you have an iPhone 8 or an earlier model of the device and you want to learn how to display battery percentage on your iPhone, this section will help you out.
