iOS devices are equipped with the ability to help you capture screenshots of your device. All you need to do is press the combination of buttons and a screenshot will be taken and saved on your device. However, those of you running a certain version of iOS complain that iOS 12 screenshot feature is not working on your devices.

There could be various reasons as to why you are facing the screenshot feature not working issue on your iOS 12 device. Perhaps you are not pressing the key combination as it is supposed and thus you can’t take a screenshot. Or maybe there is an issue on your device that needs some fixing. Regardless, the following guide will help you fix the screenshot issue on your iOS 12 running iPhone or iPad.

How to Fix iOS 12 Screenshot not Working on iPhone/iPad

Try all of the methods given below until you find the one that works for you. There will definitely be at least one method that will work for you and help you get rid of the screenshot issue on your device.

1. Press the Home and Power Buttons at the Same Time

It often happens that you press one button a few seconds prior to pressing the other button and that fails the screenshot taking procedure. In that case, your iPhone or iPad will perform the action of the button that you have pressed rather than doing what the combination of the buttons should do.

Therefore, it’s suggested that you press both Power and Home buttons at the same time. You can press the Power button a second before pressing the Home button and that will work.

2. Use AssistiveTouch to Take Screenshots on iPhone/iPad

AssistiveTouch is a feature on your iOS device that enables you to capture screenshots without needing to press any buttons. It adds an icon to your screen that you can tap on to take screenshot and do a few other tasks.

Step 1: Enable the AssistiveTouch feature on your iOS device by heading to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch and turning the toggle to the On position.
