These days nobody remembers phone numbers and therefore each phone including the latest iPhone XS (Max)/XR comes equipped with the Contacts app to help you store and organize your contacts. Sometimes, you may need to use your contacts outside of your iPhone XS (Max)/XR and that will require you to somehow export the contacts from your iPhone X/XS (Max)/XR smartphone.
Fortunately, with an increasing number of people using the contacts feature, there are now multiple methods that you can use to download contacts on your other devices from your iPhone X/XS (Max)/XR. All these methods are pretty easy to follow and we’ve got step by step guide for you below to help you easily export contacts.
If you haven’t been using AnyTrans for iOS, you have probably missed out on many cool things that you can do on your iOS device. The app allows you to manage all the content on your iOS device right from your computer. It lets you transfer files, add new files, and even manage contacts right off of your computer.
Step 1Download and launch the AnyTrans for iOS on your computer > Plug in your iPhone X/XS (Max)/XR to your computer using a suitable cable.
Step 2 Enter Device Manager > Switch to the Category Management page > Click on Contacts option.
Step 3 Checkmark the ones you wish to download > Then click on the settings icon to select an output format and export path > Click on the Send to PC/Mac button to start downloading contacts to your computer.
Step 4Soon you will have downloaded all of your iPhone X/XS (Max)/XR contacts in your chosen file format on your computer.
If you chose the CSV format, you could open the file in the MS Excel app to view your contacts. Or if you chose the vCard format, you should be able to import it into the contacts app on your computer to view all of your contacts. Easy peasy, no?
If for some reason you don’t want to use an app to export your contacts, you can have all of your contacts exported from iCloud provided you were syncing your contacts with the iCloud service. The following shows how to use iCloud to export contacts from an iPhone X/XS (Max)/XR.
Step 1Head over to the official iCloud website > Log-in to your iCloud account.
Step 2Click on the Contacts option.
Step 3Choose the contacts you want to download to your computer > Click on the settings icon in the bottom-left corner > Select the option that reads Export vCard.
Step 4A vCard file(.vcf) containing your selected contacts will be downloaded to your computer. You may open the file with any contacts app and you will be able to view the details of your contacts.
iCloud only allows you to export contacts in .vcf format, which requires you to import the file to certain contacts app to view the contacts information. If you want to view your contacts simply on Excel or have more options of formats to choose from, you can jump to Method 1 and give a try.
There may not be as many contacts app for iPhone X/XS (Max)/XR as there are for Android devices but that doesn’t mean you can’t export contacts from your device.
