1. Unpair Your Apple Watch from Your Current iPhone

If you have been using an Apple Watch with your current iPhone, you will need to unpair it from your current iPhone to then use it with your new iPhone. Unpairing will also automatically create a backup of your Watch data.

2. Update Your iPhone to iOS 11/12

Quick Start was introduced in iOS 11 so make sure your iPhone is using either iOS 11 or later for the feature to work. If you are on an old version of iOS, you can easily update your iPhone to the latest version using the following steps.

Step 3 An animation will appear on your new iPhone. Bring your current iPhone over your new iPhone and ensure the animation is in the center in viewfinder. A message will appear saying Finish on New iPhone.

Step 4 You will be asked to enter the passcode of your current iPhone on your new iPhone. Do so and it will let you move forward.

Step 5 You can now enable Face ID or Touch ID on your new iPhone. Do so and move forward.

Step 6 Your new iPhone will prompt you to enter your Apple ID password. Do that and you will move forward with the setup process.

Step 7 You should now be able to restore any old data if you wish. Follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
