How to Send/Receive Money through iMessage in iOS 11 on iPhone iPad

Step 1. Set up Apple Pay on iPhone: Open Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Add Credit or Debit Card. Follow the instructions on iPhone to set up Apple Pay.

Step 2. Launch iMessage app on your iPhone/iPad, open any conversation.

Step 3. Check out the Apple Pay button in the Drawer, tap it. Enter the amount you want to send to your friend, follow the on-screen instruction to send the money.

Alternatively, you can use Siri to send Apple Pay cash. Just activate virtual assistant by saying Hi, Siri or holding the Home button, then ask it to send money to your friend. You would be asked how much money you wish to send to your firend, confirm. Follow the usual process of sending money, confirm the payment with Touch ID or Face ID.
