iOS 10 is the tenth major release of the iOS operating system developed by Apple Inc., being the successor to iOS 9. It was announced at the company's WWDC 2016 keynote on June 13, 2016, with release scheduled for autumn.

Apple has released the first public-beta version of iOS 10 on July 7, 2016, and now iOS 10 Developer beta 7 is out. iOS 10 improves and adds upon user experience system-wide including 3D Touch expansion, an updated lock screen, and "widget" support. There are also added features to apps: Messages (Learn: how to retrieve deleted messages on iPhone) adds expressive ways to communication, Maps has been redesigned and extended with third-party functions, Home manages HomeKit-enabled accessories within one place, Photos (Learn: how to transfer photos from mac to iPhone 7) helps users access algorithmic Memories, and Siri is now compatible for third-party app-specific requests.

The Messages application will be able to show previews of received links, videos (Learn: how to sync videos to iPhone iPad) and other content. The application has been enhanced with many visual effects. Chat bubbles, for example, can be sent with a "loud" or "gentle" animation that the recipient sees upon receiving. Full-screen effects like balloons, confetti or fireworks can be sent. There is also support for interactions similar to the Apple Watch, such as sending quick sketches and recording and sending the user's heartbeat.

Third-party developers will be able to provide dedicated iMessage (Learn: how to delete iMessages from iPhone) apps to users with which they can share rich content or interact with certain app functions from within the Messages app. For example, users can send "stickers", search for web images or order taxicab or ride-sharing services from within a conversation

Photos can now shoot RAW using third-party apps, allowing greater control over detail. In addition, the app gains deep learning capabilities for sorting and search, with a new "Memories" feature that automatically recognizes and compiles related photos (Learn: how to transfer photos from iPhone to iPhone) and creates short, musical videos that are easily shareable.
