Your iPhone comes loaded with many features that you can hardly use all of them. One of these features is zoom. This feature allows you to enlarge the icons and other elements on your iPhone’s screen. If you are someone with vision problems, you might appreciate this feature as it lets you easily read the content on your screen.

Sometimes when you enable the mode, your iPhone gets stuck in the zoom mode. If this is the case with you, you will find that your iPhone’s icons always remain larger than the normal mode. This becomes annoying if you are not used to seeing large icons.

Luckily, there are some ways to fix an iPhone that is stuck on magnified icons and bring the icons back to their normal size. The following methods will help you do that.

Part 1. Why does my iPhone Get Stuck on Zoom

You will probably want to learn why your iPhone got stuck in zoom mode in the first place. This could happen due to various reasons and the following are some of the possible ones.

Reason 1. Zoom Mode is Enabled

One of the reasons why your iPhone shows zoomed icons is that you have the zoom mode feature enabled on your device. If you did not turn it off or if someone else turned it on after you disabled it, this scenario could appear.

Reason 2. Minor Software Glitch

Another possible reason why your iPhone is stuck in zoomed mode is that there is a minor glitch in the software of your device. This usually happens when one of the core files is altered.

Reason 3. Issues with the System Software

If your iPhone’s operating system has any issues, that can also cause your iPhone to remain stuck on the zoomed in screen. This is a more serious issue and you need to fix it as soon as you can to avoid any other errors on your phone.

Part 2. How to Get my iPhone Screen Back to Normal Size

If you cannot tolerate those large icons even for one more second, you will want to disable them and bring your iPhone back to the normal mode. There are actually multiple ways to zoom out on your iPhone and the following methods will help you do that.

Tip 1. How to Exit or Turn Off Zoom Mode

The easiest way to fix the stuck issue on your iPhone is to turn off zoom mode. Once you have disabled this feature on your iPhone, your iPhone will show the normal sized icons. Your icons will no longer be magnified.

There are three different ways to disable zoom mode on an iPhone. You can either use a gesture, the Settings app, or iTunes or Finder to disable the feature. Here we cover all these three methods for you.

1. Tap Three Fingers to Zoom Out

The easiest way to exit zoom mode on your iPhone is to use a touch-screen gesture. You basically need to use three of your fingers to get out of zoom mode on your phone.

On your iPhone’s screen, double-tap with three fingers and this will zoom out your screen. Your icons should now be back to the original size.

2. Go to iPhone Settings

Zoom is actually an accessibility feature on your iPhone and you can enable and disable it at any time from the Settings app. If you do not wish to use the feature because it gets stuck or if you simply prefer smaller icons, you can head into the settings menu and disable this feature.

If you ever need the feature back on your device, you can do that by enabling the toggle for the feature in the settings menu.

Step 1. Launch the Settings app from the springboard on your iPhone.

Step 2. Tap on the option that says General and then select the Accessibility option.

Step 3. You will find several accessibility options on your screen. Tap on the one that says Zoom.

All you basically need to do is plug your iPhone into your computer and change an option in the Finder or iTunes app. It will disable the zoom mode and bring your icons back to their normal size.

You can do that as follows on your computer.

Step 2. Connect your iPhone to your computer using the original USB cable.

Step 3. Make sure you are in the General tab. Then, click on the button that says Configure Accessibility to change your iPhone’s accessibility options.
