Yahoo email not working in mail app with iOS 14

My yahoo email is not updating the inbox after I upgraded to iOS 14. The junk (spam) email still works but not the inbox. I have removed it and rebooted it several times. The yahoo mail app works fine but I do not want to use it permanently. Any thoughts?

How to Fix Yahoo Mail not Working on iPhone with iOS 14/13/12

Solution 1. If you are unable to open Yahoo emails properly in iPhone Mail App, try downloading and installing Yahoo Mail App from Apple iTunes Store or App Store. Yahoo Mail App is working fine mostly for all iPhone models. While if you do not want to use Yahoo Mail App, you can wait till either Apple or Yahoo find a fix for this problem.

Solution 2. If Yahoo asks you to use third party passwords when you are signing in from any other app, like iPhone Mail App, please follow these steps:

Step 1. Sign in and go to your Account security page.

Step 2. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords.

Step 3. Select your app from the drop-down menu and click Generate.

Step 4. Follow the instructions below the password.

Step 5. Click Done.

Step 6. Use this app password and your email address to sign in to your email app.

For other common Yahoo mail not working on iPhone issues, you can try the following tips to fix them.

Solution 3. Try signing out of your mailbox > Restart your iPhone > Login to your Yahoo email account again.

Solution 4. Since the latest iOS versions will fix many bugs existing in previous versions, you can update your iPhone to the latest available update by going to Settings > General > Software Update to check if there is a new iOS version.

iOS 14.0.1 fixes an issue that could cause default browser and mail settings to reset after restarting iPhone and resolves an issue that could prevent sending email with some mail providers. It supports iPhone 6s and later, iPod touch 7th generation, iPad Air 2 and later, and iPad mini 4 and later.

Solution 5. There is a possibility that you don’t enable cellular data. So when your iPhone is out of WiFi, your Yahoo emails cannot be received. Go to Settings > Cellular > Toggle Mail App on.

Solution 6. Set  SMTP server. Go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Yahoo! > Account > Outgoing Mail server SMTP > Other SMTP Servers. In Other SMTP Servers Host name is smtp.mail.yahoo.comO > Enter full Username and Password > Set Port to 465, and SSL to Yes.

Solution 7. Enable “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in”. Launch Yahoo and sign in > At the top of the page tap on Your name > Account info > Account Security > Scroll down to find “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in”, and enable it.
