The iOS 10 adds a set of new features and tricks to iMessage and make it more interesting than ever before. You can send messages with effects or even play games in iMessage with friends. 1. Check Your Device Settings

1> Make sure your time zone is set correctly. Go to Settings > General > Data & Time to have a check.

2> Make sure you can see your phone number on the top of Contacts of Phone app. If you can’t see the number, then go to Settings > Phone > My Number to enter your number.

Step 3. Turn off Airplane mode > You will see a notification says that “ Your carrier may charge for SMS” and tap OK.

Step 4. If no notification, please go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage > Turn it on again. The iMessage should get activated then. You can see an email ID and the grayed out number.

4. Sign out and Sign in Apple ID

Step 1. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Tap your Apple ID and then Sign Out.

Step 2. Turn off iMessage option > Turn it on after a while > Reenter your Apple ID > Turn on iMessage.

5. Update the Carrier & iOS to the Latest Version

Turn on Wi-Fi or Cellular > Open Settings > Tap General > Tap About to check if there is any update available(a pop window will appear if the update is available). You can also contact your carrier to make sure that you can send and receive messages.

Go to Settings > General > Software Update to see whether there is a new update. If so, update your device.

6. Restore Your Device
