Japan does not have as much of 5G coverage as other countries but it is slowly rolling out the service in various parts of the country. NTT Docomo, the country’s leading network operator, has rolled the 5G service in many cities including Tokyo and Osaka.

All three major telecom operators in China have launched the 5G service. These are namely China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom. While you may not have access to the service in rural areas, you should have some good coverage in larger cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

Sprint is now a T-Mobile owned entity and it claims to have nationwide availability of the 5G network. As long as you have a compatible phone such as a Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, you can instantly start using the service on your phone.

All you basically need to do is install a software update on your phone and your phone will start receiving 5G signals.

T-Mobile 5G

T-Mobile says they have the largest number of areas covered for the 5G service. It basically means regardless of where you live, if you can connect to T-Mobile, you are most likely to get the 5G signals on your compatible phone.

Some of the phones you can use T-Mobile 5G with include Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, OnePlus 8 5G, and LG V60 ThinQ 5G. If you have one of these phones, all you need to do is let T-Mobile know about it and they can enable the service for you.

Verizon 5G

  • Bulgaria – you can expect the service to be rolled out in your area by 2020.
  • Finland – partial 5G service is available but a full rollout will be made anytime in 2020.
  • Germany – full 5G services will be made available by 2022.
  • Ireland – many cities are covered but the full rollout will finish by the end of 2020.
  • Italy – many carriers have planned a 5G release but the date is unknown.
  • The Netherlands – auctions will be completed in June and then roll out will begin.
  • Norway – the country will see a full countrywide coverage by 2023.
  • Singapore – rollout begins from January 2021 and is expected to cover the whole country by 2025.
