In iOS 10, Apple has made it possible to use Siri to announce caller’s name or number, which is designed for Phone app on your iPhone. When you turn it on, Siri will announce who is calling based on your contacts. It will announce the caller’s name or number if it is in your contacts list. And if the caller isn’t in your contacts, it will tell you an unknown number is calling you.

How to Make iPhone Announce Caller’s Name & Number in iOS 10

Step 1. Go to Settings app > Scroll down and choose Phone.

Step 2. Tap on Announce Calls > Choose one option you prefer.

Always: It will announce caller’s name in any case.

Headphone & Car: It will announce caller’s name when you are using headphones or in a car.

Headphones Only: It will announce calls when you have headphones plugged in.

If you want to turn Announce Caller off, you can choose Never option. Then it will prevent your iPhone from speaking caller’s name.
