If your Samsung tablet has got frozen and does not respond to your actions, you may want to find a fix to the issue and get the issue sorted out. There are several ways to do it as the post below explains.
While most of the tablets developed by Samsung are stable and usually never cause any issues, there are times when things go wrong and these tablets start to behave abnormally. If you are one of those users and your Samsung Galaxy tablet gets frozen for no apparent reason, the issue needs to be investigated and fixed before things get worse.
Fortunately, Samsung has got you covered and it provides you with several methods to help you fix the freezing issue you are currently facing with your tablet. Most of the methods are easy to apply and they get the job done for you.
If you are ready, the following is how you unfreeze your frozen Samsung tablet.
The methods shown below are common ones and you do not require much equipment to apply these methods to your device. You may need to try multiple methods before you find the one that works for you.
When your tablet gets frozen, the first thing you may want to do is force reboot the tablet. What force rebooting your device does is it forcibly shuts down the operating system of your device. When this happens, it gives a brand new start to your device and ensures you do not face the frozen issue on your tablet.
To force reboot your Samsung tablet, press and hold down the Power and Volume Down buttons together for about seven seconds. Your device will then start to reboot. If the device can’t be force restarted, you should just drain the device until it shuts off. Then you can charge the tablet and restart it from scratch.
If your Samsung tablet gets frozen only once in a while and works great for the rest of the time, you may use the Device Maintenance feature while the tablet works to fix the issue you face.
The Device Maintenance is a feature located in settings on your tablet. It allows you to optimize your device to ensure there are no errors on it. The following shows how you can access the feature on your tablet.
Launch the Settings app on your tablet. When it opens, tap on the option that says Device maintenance. On the following screen, you will be able to optimize your tablet using the available options.
One of the possible reasons why your tablet gets frozen is you have too much content stored on your device. If you do admit you have stored a lot of files on your device and there is not much free memory space available, you may want to back up some of your data to your computer and then delete the data from your tablet.
When it comes to backing up content on a Samsung device, you have several backup options to choose from. Either you can use Samsung Cloud from Settings > Cloud and accounts > Samsung Cloud or you can use a dedicated app like AnyDroid to have your tablet data backed up to your computer with ease.
AnyDroid is made for Android devices management, you can easily back up your Android device. Just Download AnyDroid and keep your Android data safe from freezing up.
If you have recently installed any apps on your tablet, it could be these apps are causing your tablet to freeze up. If that is the case, you may want to reboot your device into safe mode and get rid of these apps from your device.
Rebooting a Samsung tablet into the safe mode is pretty easy. To do it, turn off your tablet, press and hold down the Power button until you see the Samsung logo, let go of the Power button and press and hold down the Volume Down button and you should enter the safe mode on your device.
You may then get rid of any of the items that you think could be causing the frozen issue on your tablet.
If none of the above methods worked for you, your final resort should be to reset your tablet to the factory settings. Resetting the device will remove all the contents and settings and let you customize your device from scratch.
To do so, head to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset > Reset and tap on Delete All to reset your device.
It should definitely fix the freeze issue for your device as it removes all the content from your device.
If you are sick of getting your Samsung tablet frozen up every now and then, you may want to use some of the methods shown above to fix the issue once and for all on your device.
