Sync Apps to New iPad with iTunes

Another Apple platform that you can use to facilitate the simple transfer of your apps to another device is iTunes. While iTunes has originally been designed as a music library and media player, it has been significantly revamped and expanded recently, and now serves as a comprehensive data management tool. This platform can be used to transfer entire apps as well, so it can be very useful when you are trying to migrate to another device, for example, a new iPad.

To copy apps from iPhone/iPad to new iPad

Step 1. Make an iTunes Backup

Connect your old iPad with the computer > Open iTunes and click iPad > Click Back up now and wait while iTunes completes the backup process.

If iTunes doesn’t recognize your iPhone/iPad immediately, try to reconnect it and wait for a while.

Step 2. Sync your Apps between Devices

  1. Run iTunes and plug in your source device with a cable or another connection method.
  2. Select which type of data you want to copy to iTunes, in this case, Apps.

By selecting app data, you can download the content to the device and thus achieve full synchronization. Thus, iTunes works as a convenient workaround to connect your devices and facilitate data sharing between them. This procedure can be executed with or without a computer, and iTunes Wi-Fi remains a viable option if you don’t have the appropriate data cable with you.

Please note that your iTunes version is older than 12.7, because the Apps icon has been removed from iTunes version 12.7.
