Mostly you will want to use this saved passwords feature when you want to log in to a website or app. There are certain times, though, when you would want to view them like WiFi passwords that are saved on your iPhone. Luckily, there is a way for you to view the saved passwords on your iOS device and that is what the following guide tells you about.

How to See Saved Passwords on iPhone

If you have never bothered to check your phone for any saved passwords, you probably are not aware of how to find saved passwords on iPhone. Apple does not offer an independent app for you to view and manage your passwords on your iPhone. Instead, you have an option right in the Settings app to let you view your passwords.

This option works pretty much the same way as any other password manager. All you basically need to do is access the option, verify your identity, and you can view all your saved passwords. Keep in mind that this requires you to unlock your device and also enter your passcode when you want to view your saved passwords.

Step 1. Launch the Settings app from the home screen on your iPhone.

Step 2. On the following screen, scroll down and find and tap on the Passwords & Accounts option. This will let you view your saved passwords.

Step 4. Your iPhone will ask you to confirm your identity. You can do this by using your Touch ID or Face ID.

Step 5. You should now see a list of websites that you have saved passwords for on your iPhone. Tap on any website to see its password.

Manage Passwords with a Management Tool

While your iPhone lets you view your saved passwords, that is not a comprehensive list of your passwords. Although all these details are saved on your phone, there is no way for you to view them using the official features on your phone. Luckily, AnyUnlock – iPhone Password Unlocker can help you view various types of passwords from your iOS devices. The app even allows you to export your iPhone passwords to your computer if you want to create a backup of your passwords.

Add and Save a Password on iPhone

It is really great that your iPhone saves your website and app passwords for you. However, the issue is that this save prompt usually only appears in Safari. This means, if you use any other browser to log in to your websites, your login credentials are not going to be saved. This results in you having to manually enter your username and password on each of your websites.

There is actually a feature in iPhone’s password manager that you can use to manually add your login details to the device. This way, you can add a username and password for any website by typing those details manually on your iPhone. This comes in handy when you use a browser like Chrome or Firefox on your iPhone and you do not get the automatic prompt to save your passwords. This feature to add new login details is easy to find and use. The following shows how to access and use this feature.

Step 1. Head to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Website & App Passwords on your iPhone.

Step 2. If required, confirm your identity using your verification method.

Step 3. On the screen where you see your passwords, tap on the + (plus) sign at the top-right corner to add new login details.

Delete a Saved Password from an iPhone

iPhone’s password manager feature is pretty flexible and you can use it to view, add, and even delete your saved passwords and login details. There are many reasons why you would want to delete logins from your iPhone. Maybe you are no longer a user on a website you want to delete that site’s logins from your phone? Or maybe you have created a new account on a site and you want to remove old logins from your device? Either way, it is pretty easy to do that.

When you remove your login details from your iPhone, there is no way for you to recover them. Once the logins are removed, your iPhone will not be able to help you automatically fill in your username and password. You will have to manually type your login credentials to get logged in to that site.

There are two ways to delete saved passwords from an iPhone. You can either delete passwords for multiple sites at once or you can delete passwords individually for each site. The following shows how you can use both of these features on your phone.

Step 1. Open the Settings app and head to Passwords & Accounts > Website & App Passwords.

Step 2. Authenticate yourself using your security method.

Step 3. On the following screen, if you want to delete multiple passwords at once, tap on Edit at the top-right corner. Then, select the passwords you want to delete and tap on Delete at the top-left corner.
