Method 1. Rebuild iTunes Music Library

Though it is always good to own the latest version of iTunes, however, sometimes updated iTunes may corrupt iTunes music library. Under this circumstance, rebuilding iTunes music library helps. Below are detailed steps.

Step 1. Back up your iTunes Media folder, (even though restoring iTunes music library doesn’t affect your media files, it is still best to backup the iTunes Media files first) then quit iTunes.

Step 2. Navigate to your iTunes folder, (For Mac users, iTunes folder can be found in Music on your home folder. For Windows users, the location could vary from each other, just search Music on whole computer, you can find the Music folder.) Make a copy of the two files: iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Library.xml.

Step 3. Delete the iTunes Library or iTunes Library.itl file.

Step 4. Launch iTunes, and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. Navigate to the iTunes Library.xml, click Open (Windows) or Choose (Mac), wait a few minutes, your iTunes music library is now rebuilt.

Method 2. Clean Cache Folder

When viewing files in iTunes, iTunes would check if there is an album artwork embedded in the files or download separately. If so, it creates a cache file of the artwork. That is to say if we clean the cache folder with artwork, iTunes would generate the cache again, then iTunes artwork album not showing issue would be fixed.

Following are the detailed steps to clean cache folder of iTunes artwork album.

Please find Music folder in iTunes folder, delete it by moving it to the Trash Bin. Empty the trash bin, quit iTunes and relaunch it. Please mind that don’t clean other folders for they may contain other useful items.

Method 3. Manually Add Album Artwork

If neither methods above work for you, have a try to manually add album artwork.

Step 1. Get the detailed information on the track, search it on Google, download the album artwork to your computer.

Step 2. Go back to iTunes, right-click the track without album artwork, hit “Get Info”, select Artwork > Add Artwork. Choose the album artwork you just download, now you have added album artwork.

Part 2. How to Fix iTunes Album Artwork Not Showing on iPhone

Normally, iTunes album artwork not showing on iPhone can be fixed by syncing with iTunes. If iTunes album artwork is showing on computer, then after syncing process, the iTunes album artwork would be shown on iPhone.
